Hobert Gene Butcher, 75, of Howland Twp, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 19, 2009 at the Hospice House in Poland. Born Sept 5, 1933 in Gilmer County, WV, he was the son of the late Clark H. and Alta (King) Butcher. Hobert was a graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School and a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1953 to 1955. He retired in 1996 from Packard Electric where he worked for 31 years. He was a member of the Warren Baptist Temple and enjoyed woodworking. He will be dearly missed by his wife Ellen (Wrighter) Butcher whom he married August 18, 1962, by his son Steven (Sue) Butcher of Hubbard, daughter Nancy (Roland) Cisneros of Toledo, two grandsons Chadwick and Ashton Cisneros, and siblings Fred (Betty) Butcher of Lake City, FL, Clara (Fred) Wert of Millersburg, PA, Violet (Bernard) Lloyd of Buckhannon, WV, Jenny (Andy) Masko of Warren, and Guy Butcher of Newton Falls. He was preceded in death by a son Kenneth G. Butcher, four brothers and one sister. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. The Rev. James Dittmar will conduct a funeral service Friday, Jan 23, 2009 at 11 am at the Warren Baptist Temple where family and friends may also call for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in the Meadowbrook Memorial Park and military honors will be observed by Newton Falls Veterans Honor Guard.
