Howard J Reel Jr

Howard J. Reel Jr., 78, of Warren passed away 8:25 AM Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 31, 1938 in Bloomfield, OH the son of the late Howard J. and Neva C. (Culver) Reel Sr. A lifetime Trumbull County resident, Howard was a 1956 graduate of Bloomfield High School. Following graduation, he served in the US Army with HQ Company, 3rd Battalion, 61st Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Div. and he still was active organizing military reunions. Howard was employed by Jones and Laughlin Steel and for 25 years was a Trumbull County Deputy Sheriff until retirement. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #137, Southington American Legion Post, and was a longtime member of the YMCA. He enjoyed SCUBA diving, snow skiing, and many outdoor activities. Howard will be deeply missed by his wife, Bethany Ann (Poole) Reel who he married Dec. 31, 1986, a son Jeff (Candee) Reel of Warren, and 2 step children Kimberly Ann Turner and Brian David Turner both of Warren. He also leaves 3 grandchildren Jessica Reel, Cortnee Stone, Britnee Stone, and 2 neices Deborah (Dunkerton) (John) Brown of W. Palm Beach, FL, and Rhonda (Schimley) Cochran of Southington. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters Hazel Schimley, Louise McMasters, infant Matilda Reel. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Saturday May 28, 2016 at Roberts-Clark Chapel.
