Lake Milton- Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Howard J. Campbell, age 78 of Lake Milton who died Sunday afternoon at Akron City Hospital. Howard was born March 19, 1929 in Century No. 1, WV and was the son of the late Howard H. Campbell and Sarah (Curkendall) Eshelman. He had worked for Ford Motor Company in Lorain and had last worked for Rockwell International where he had been a nickel plate helper. Howard enjoyed working on all types of cars, watching the old western movies on television and enjoyed country western and gospel music. Howard is survived by his wife, the former Bertha Williams whom he married Aug. 10, 1968. He leaves six children, Sharon (Joe) Battista of Warren, Gloria (D.J.) Cribley of Diamond, Shelia (Gary) Stebbins of Grande Blanc, MI., John (Carol) Campbell of Eaton Rapids, MI, Leah (Rick) Barnett of Grande Blanc, MI and Marie Lynn (Wayne) Collins of Vienna. Howard leaves six brothers and sisters, Harry Woods of Cannonsburg, Pa., Wayne Campbell of South Carolina, Marie Henderson of Oberlin, OH, Jean Chunick of Parma, OH, Grace Whitney of Florida, Fern Bontempo of Pittsburgh, Pa. and 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Norman and Dale Campbell and a beloved nephew Keith Williams. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to services on Friday. The family requests that material contributions be made to the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.
