Hyman J. Rowe, 91, of Warren, died 3:36 AM Saturday Jan.17, 2009 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital of complications following a stroke. He was born Oct. 30, 1917 in Windham the son of William and Elma Jane (Burgess) Rowe. A lifetime area resident, he graduated from Windham High School and worked as a tool and die maker for Peerless Electric-H.K. Porter from 1937-1983 when he retired as a tool room supervisor. Hyman also still owned the family farm where he was raised in Garrettsville and he continued to enjoy farming the land. He loved animals and liked to tinker with automobile engine repair. He was a member of the Second Christian Church of Warren and the Peerless retirees. Hyman was known as a wonderful, gentle, kind, man who would help anyone in need. No one could ever say a bad word about him. He was truly a special person and will be missed by his devoted friends. His wife, Elaine (Parker) Rowe whom he married Nov.8, 1941 preceded him in death Mar.18, 1991. Also preceding him in death was his son and daughter-in-law William and Jean Rowe, and 2 sisters Nellie Jugan and Hazel Ann Gastemire. He is survived by 2 grandchildren Richard Hassel of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Meg (Frank) Sofranko of Austintown, 3 great grandchildren Eric, Alex, Richie, and his special friend and companion Mary Jane Beardsley. He also leaves 3 nieces Ann Tanner, Marian Tartaglia, and Dorothy Briggs. It was his wish to be cremated and there will be a memorial service 7:00 PM Wednesday Jan. 21, 2009 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received from 5-7. Pastor Gene Eason will officiate. An interment service will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Overlook Cemetery in Parkman, OH. The family would like to thank the staff at Clearview Lantern Suites in Champion for the wonderful care Hyman received.
