Ida Ilene Robinson, 77 of Howland Township, died Wednesday morning, March 27, 2013, at Lake Vista in Cortland. She was born August 26, 1935 in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of the late Floyd Ruben and Gladys Wallace Smith. She was a Howland-Cortland area resident during her married life. Ida graduated from the Agustana School of Nursing in Chicago and worked for many years at Warren General Hospital and then St. Joseph Hospital as a registered nurse. Ida was a member of the Cortland United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the choir. She was a member of the Newton Falls Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading and playing the piano and was an avid fan of the Wheel of Fortune T.V. show. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gerald Lee Robinson whom she married January 26, 1957; two daughters, Sharon K. (Brion) DePietro and Susan M. (William) Letson both of Cortland; one son, John G. Robinson of Howland; four grandchildren, Amanda (Jerry Myers) DePietro, Matthew DePietro, Benjamin Letson and Audrey Letson and one great grandson, Ethan Alan Myers. One son, Mark Allen Robinson and one granddaughter, Marissa DePietro both have preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Pastor David Vensel will officiate. Entombment will be in the Pineview Memorial Park mausoleum.
