Ida Jeanne Ostaffie

Youngstown- Ida Jeanne (Newman) Ostaffie, 91, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. She was born in Youngstown on June 21, 1922 to the late Charles and Emma (Vincent) Newman. Jeanne lived in Youngstown, OH all of her life. She married Michael Ostaffie in August of 1946. They celebrated 32 years of marriage together before Michael passed away in March of 1979. Jeanne worked as an accountant for Wean United and retired after working for almost 25 years. Left to mourn Jeanne's passing is her daughter, Michelle (Rick) Hedrick of Austintown; her grandchildren, Rachel (Jason) Bell and Eric (Holly) Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Danielle Wells, Lexis and Quintin Bell, and Madelyn and Noah Humphrey; and her brother, Fredrick Newman of Youngstown. Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ostaffie; her parents, Charles and Emma Newman; her daughter, Jeanne L. Snyder; her grandson, Jon Snyder; her granddaughter, Janene Wells; her sister, Marian Buranich; and her brothers, Thomas, Carl, Robert, and John Newman. Jeanne will be laid to rest with her husband at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown, OH. A private memorial service has taken place.
