Irene Grace Kopps, 83 of Howland Twp. passed away at her home 3:30 PM Monday May 23, 2011 due to complications of a stroke. She was born May 7, 2918 in Pittsburgh the daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Hoobler) Hughes. She attended the Warren business college and was employed by Trumbull Memorial Hospital in the x-ray dept. for twenty-eight years retiring in 1990. She had been an avid bowler and golfer in the Warren area having participated in many tournaments. More recently she enjoyed playing cards with her many friends. She was a long standing member of the Warren Emblem Club #397 and BPO Elks #295. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband John Frank Kopps whom she married June 13, 1946, a daughter Terri Hohvart Tharp, a brother Robert Nolan Hughes, and long-time companion Ormand Tharp. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Herbert Jones of Warren, 2 daughters Linda Colley of Warren, Gayle (Richard) Williams of Hubbard, and 5 grandchildren; John Hohvart, Jen (Jason) Abrams, Renee Williams, Mary Jo and Abraham Flowers. She also leaves 6 great grandchildren whom she loved and adored as their "Doe-Doe": Angell, Emilee, John and Terralynn Hohvart and Bobbi Jo and Sophia Grace Abrams. Per Irene's request, there are no calling hours and a private service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel.
