J. Paul Good, 81 of Sharrott Rd, died Monday morning Feb. 28 at Hospice of the Valley. He was born February 24, 1930 in Poland, Ohio to Levi and Pauline Good. He was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and Juniata College. He was employed as the County Executive Director for Agricultural Conservation and Service, USDA Mahoning-Columbiana Counties, retiring in 1991. Along with his father Levi, he ran the Good Equipment Company. He was also president and director of the Springfield Township Mutual Insurance Association. He was elected to the Mahoning County Educational Service Board serving 34 years and also was appointed to the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center governing board serving 34 years. He has served in various elected positions of the Northeast Ohio School Board Association. He also served in various elected positions of the Ohio School Boards Association including President. Paul served on various positions for the National School Boards Association. He was appointed to two terms on The State of Ohio Board of Speech-Language, Pathology and Audiology. He was a member of Kiwanis Club of Boardman for 50 years - served as President and was elected Lt. Gov. of Division 21 of the Ohio District of Kiwanis International. Paul was a member of the Curbstone Coaches and has organized their Hall of Fame Dinner for the past 10 years. He also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. He is a member of Faith Community Covenant Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the YSU Penguins. Recently, he was honored to be the recipient of the 2010 Poland Education Foundation Alumni of the Year. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jean and wife Patricia (Kohn) Good He is survived by his daughter Charlotte Good of Austintown, and son Jeff (Laura) Good of Salem, and beloved grandchildren Dan and Megan, sister Helen Ebersole of Lakewood N.Y. and various nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Staff of Shepherd of Valley, the 5th Floor Staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman, and Dr. Jeffery Resch. Memorial contributions should be made to the YSU Foundation for a scholarship in the name of J. Paul Good. Memorial services will be held at 11 am Thursday at Faith Community Covenant Church, 1919 Midlothian Blvd. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and from 10- 11 am Thursday at the church prior to service.
