A mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Wednesday in St Charles Church for Jack A. McCombs Jr., 58, of Boardman who passed away Sunday afternoon after a valent eight year battle with cancer. Jack was born April 18, 1947 in Youngstown the son of Jack A. and Alice L. (Lohry) McCombs Sr. He worked for General Motors for more than 30 years most recently in the Inspection Department. Jack was a 1967 graduate of McDonald High School where he was the first All State Defensive Tackle for McDonald High School in 1966. He was a member of the church, an avid hunter & fisherman, and served on the board of directors for the Eastern Ohio Conservation Club. Jack also loved traveling. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Besides his mother Alice, Jack is survived by his wife the former Karen Bolchazi whom he married July 6, 1974, two brothers Eric Allen McCombs of Canfield, and Barry Jay McCombs of Mineral Ridge, and one nephew Hunter Matthew McCombs. Jack was preceded in death by his father. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
