Private family services were held Tuesday afternoon for Jack D. Boano Jr., 72, of Poland who lost his short battle with lymphoma on Saturday in Hospice House. Jack was born January 20, 1937 in Youngstown the son of the late Jack Sr. and Margaret (Yash) Boano. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Wilson High School. Jack was most recently the owner of Poland Auto Sales, and was the owner of American Dream Pools for over 30 years retiring in 1999. Jack was a member of the National Swimming Pool Institute, the Christian Businessmen’s Association, and held a commission with the Mahoning County Sherriff’s Department. He also was an avid car enthusiast and racing fan. Jack will be sadly missed by his wife the former Jane Rusu whom he married December 5, 1953 and his three daughters; Pamela Brooks of Canfield, Jackie (Andy) Rotunno of Struthers, Linda (Mike) Hoza of Poland, as well as one brother; Robert (Anne Boano of Poland. Jack also leaves six grandchildren; Alana Brooks of Canfield, Karrie, Amy, and Andy Rotunno Jr. all of Struthers, and Ashley and Adrienne Hoza of Poland, and two great grand children; Amber and Brandon Rotunno. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and several very close friends. There were no calling hours. Arrangements were by Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
