James A. Dye

McDONALD: James A. Dye, age 80, passed away Thursday , February 6, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren, Ohio. He was born January 24, 1934 in Dixonville, Pa. to Urald and Della (Stuchell) Dye. After his formal education James entered and proudly served in the U.S. Army. On April 25, 1959 James married Marilyn Depto. They were married 55 years. After the service James worked 33 years as a crane operator at Columbia Iron and Metal in Girard Ohio. An example of James' skilled craftsmanship can be found on State Route 46 in Niles. He was instrumental in the construction and fabrication of the "Iron Man". In his spare time James enjoyed bowling, gardening and puzzle books. He would listen to music for hours. And he loved his sports. He cheered his Steelers and Pirates faithfully. James leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Marilyn (Depto) Dye, sons Dennis Dye of Midwest City, OK, Jeffrey (Denise) Dye of Aurora, CO, James (Cher) Dye of Mesquite, NV, and daughter Karen Dye of McDonald OH. Grandchildren Mollie Golden and Jenna Golden. Also sharing his memories are his brother E. Richard (Caroline) Dye of NY, sisters Helen Morey, Pearl Johnston, Donna Jean Rouser , Margaret Makin, L. Elaine Kirsch, and Ileen Trout, all from PA. James was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Plunkett, brothers William, John, Robert, and Charles Dye. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5-7 pm at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the funeral home.
