James Allen Harmon passed away Monday July 4th at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. He was 60. James was born July 17, 1944 in Marion, OH a son of the late Rev. Charles and Olive (Vice) Harmon, and came to Youngstown in 1985 from Bellefontaine, OH. He had worked for the Ross Training Center (RTC) in Bellefontaine for many years. James had formerly attended the Austintown Baptist Church and while residing in Bellefontaine was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. He had participated in the International Special Olympics in New Orleans and won a gold medal in softball. He is survived by two brothers: David (Judy) Harmon of Riverside, CA, and Lloyd (Marti) Harmon of Ellsworth, ME, one sister Carol (Dennis) Singley of Austintown, three nephews and one niece. Besides his parents, James is preceded in death by one nephew. Friends may call from 4:30 – 6:30 Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday. Committal services will take place at 11 AM Saturday at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine, OH. Material contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in James’ name.
