Mineral Ridge- Funeral services will be held 3PM Saturday in Ohltown United Methodist Church for James F. Wiseman, age 78 of 1763 Dumont Dr. who died Tuesday evening of lung cancer at his home. Mr. Wiseman was born March 26, 1926 in Hubbard, OH and was the son of Ralph and Velma (Kidd) Wiseman and came to Mineral Ridge in 1970. Mr. Wiseman retired from Sherwin-Williams US Can in 1986. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Marine Reserves. He was very active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and coached the Mineral Ridge Youth Baseball teams for many years. He was an avid sports fan, attended all the high school sports activities and especially enjoyed watching wrestling matches on TV. He was a member of Ohltown United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 04192 of Mineral Ridge. He is survived by his wife the former Dorothy Garrett whom he married Aug. 4, 1956. He also leaves a daughter Debra (Michael) Fisher of Mineral Ridge, two sons, Greg and Ron (Angel) Wiseman both of Rock Hill, SC, three granddaughters, Nicole and Jennifer Fisher of Mineral Ridge, Alexandria Wiseman of Rock Hill, SC, a grandson Michael Fisher of Mineral Ridge, a step-grandson Shane (Kim) Liberty and step-great-grandsons Dylan, Austin, twins Nick and Zack all of Rock Hill, SC. and a sister Doris Burton of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Phillip and three brothers, Ralph, Gene and Paul Wiseman. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday. The family requests that material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5290 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
