James J. Jarvis, 82, of Greenville, PA, formerly of Youngstown passed away on Sunday morning at the Saybrook Landing Nursing Home following a short illness. Jim was born in Youngstown on June 26, 1929, the son of John and Anna (Puskar) Javorsky. He was an alumni of Woodrow Wilson High School and would go on to serve our country in the United States Navy. Following an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1952, Jim would work as an Electronics Technician for M&G Vending until his retirement in 2004. While living in Youngstown Jim had been a longtime member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church had more recently had been a member of St. Michaels Church in Greenville, PA. He is survived by his three children Lisa Klingensmith and her husband Jim of Canfield, OH, James J. Jarvis Jr. and his wife Margaret of Port Huron, MI, and Vicki Metz of Transfer, PA; five grandchildren Charley King and his wife Andrea, Sam King, Christopher Jarvis, Jared Jarvis, and Alexandra Metz; and one great-grandson Zachary Penniman. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John Javorsky, and Steve Jarvis, his sister Mary Javorsky, and his grandson Jacob King. Calling hours will be from 5:00 - 7:00PM on Wednesday evening at the Lane Funeral Home at 5797 Mahoning Avenue Austintown, OH 44515. Rev. Msgr. Peter Polando will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM on Thursday November 10, 2011 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church 252 East Wood Street Youngstown, OH. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where military honors will be observed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve 2420 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Arrangements were entrusted to the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield, Ohio.
