James J. Pogany, age 70, of Austintown passed away at his home on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Born December 25, 1945, he was the son of Joseph and Rose (Tomory) Pogany. He graduated from Hubbard High School and then entered into the U.S. Army where he served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1970. Jimmy was an elder at the Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, coached Hot-Stove baseball, and was active in the Austintown Band Parents. He loved Myrtle Beach as well as camping; he was an avid stamp collector. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Georgia (Tabak); children: Jason (Kathleen) of Vero Beach, FL., Amy (Greg) Tibolla of Austintown, Erin (David) Riebe South Charleston, WV, and Karen (Kevin) Naples Ellsworth; grandchildren: Kailyn and Mattie Tibolla, Nicholas Riebe, Landry, Rylan, and Camdyn Naples, and Tyler Pina. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Paul Pogany. Friends will be received at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel on Monday from 3-7PM where services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 1:30PM. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
