James M. "Jim" Callihan, age 81 of Warren Township, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, November 3, 2013, at home of cardiac arrest. He was born March 6, 1932 in Olive Hill, Kentucky the son of the late James Russell and Ida Irene Oney Callihan. He had been a Trumbull county resident since 1952. Jim had served in the Kentucky Army National Guard. He was employed by the American Welding and Manufacturing Company in Warren for 38 years as a ring mill operator, retiring in 1989. Jim attended Champion Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling, horses, dogs, gardening and home remodeling. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lenore L. "Lee" Meredith Callihan, whom he married October 5, 1981; two sons, Johnny R. Callihan of Niles and Curtis W. (Susan) Callihan of Missoula, Montana; four stepchildren, Valerie (Jim) Rose of Champion, Charles Patrick (Sandra) Lauer of Warren, Bruce (Beth) Reiner of Youngstown and Lee Reiner of Newton Falls; one brother, Philip (Carole) Callihan of Champion; three sisters, Wilma (Paul) File of Vienna, Barbara (Bob) Beatty of Niles and Sharon Kay McDonough of Fowler; seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters, Adelyn Rose Leevy and Ana Callihan. Besides his parents, a nephew, Ricky Miller, a brother-in-law, Joe McDonough and a daughter-in-law, Laura Reiner have all preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Pastor Marvin Barney will officiate. Entombment will be in the garden mausoleum at Meadowbrook Memorial Park in Champion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. SW, Warren, OH 44481 or to the donors' favorite charity.
