AUSTINTOWN Funeral services will be at noon April 5, 2011, at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for James H Magyar, 85, who died Thursday afternoon at Hospice House of Poland. James was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Morgantown, W. Va., a son of the late Joseph and Helen Bence Magyar. He had been a Machine Operator for Bliss Manufacturing for many years, retiring in 1978. He was an Army veteran of World War II and an Navy veteran of the Korean War. James was a member of the VFW Post NO. 4237 and enjoyed playing bingo and cards. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. His wife, the former Emily E. Manning whom he married July 16, 1971, died July 23, 2005. He leaves two sons, James Magyar, Jr. of Philadelphia and Ron Magyar of Struthers; five daughters, Linda (Howard) Clark of Austintown. Shiela Hedrichs of Fairmont, W. Va., Missy (Larry) Russo of Bradenton, Fla., Cindy (Ken) Bonacker of Youngstown, Linda (Mark) Skorich of Sterling, Va.; two sisters, Isabelle Matty and Mary Miller, both of Aberdeen, Md.; a brother, Louis Magyar of Phoenixville, Pa.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, James was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Hopp and Elizabeth "Betty" Hasko. Friends may call on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
