James Roy Gadd Jr.

James R. "Sonny" Gadd Jr., 63, of Warren, passed away Monday afternoon, Feb. 1, 2010 in Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Born July 20, 1946 in Youngstown, he was the son of Rose (Savage) Gadd of Dunn, NC and the late James Roy Gadd Sr. Sonny was a veteran of the United States Army, Screaming Eagles101st Airborne and served in the Vietnam War. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, He began work at General Motors in Lordstown where he worked in final processing. Sonny retired in 2005 after 34 years with the company. Sonny loved to shoot pool. He played for the APA where he won numerous championships. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed fishing and the beach, especially the beaches of Myrtle Beach, SC. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Kimberly (Kassinger) Gadd of Warren whom he married Dec. 17, 2003. Sonny is survived by two daughters Debra Diane Gadd of National Harbor, MD, and Sandra Diane (Tom) Virostek of North Jackson, a stepson, Zachary Robert Raymond Patterson of Warren, a granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Virostek, four sisters, Joan Thomas of Warren, Carol Finney of Howland Twp., Judy Gruber and Peggy Hazlett both of Dunn, NC, and by a brother Robin Gadd of Linden, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister Sally Kuhn and two brothers David and Richard Gadd. Family and friends may visit on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Patricia Virostek will conduct a funeral service Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at 11AM at the funeral home. According to Sonny's wishes, cremation will take place concluding the funeral service.
