James Russell Garland, 79 AUSTINTOWN—Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel for James Russell Garland 79, of Austintown, formerly of Niles who passed away early Thursday morning in Briarfield of Ashley Circle. James was born February 16, 1924 in Niles, a son of Arthur and Rachel (John) Garland. He retired from G.N. Williams Trucking as a truck driver, prior to this he worked for Warren Sanitary Milk Co. for approximately ten years and also worked for Allens Bakery. James was a Navy veteran of World War II serving three years in the South Pacific, he was also a member of the 84th Seabees. He was affiliated with the Faith Baptist Church of Niles. James is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Betty Jo Littleton, whom he married September 11, 1948; two daughters; Connie A. (Robert) Rhodes of Mineral Ridge and Bonnie L. (Raymond) Rook of Niles; two sons, James A. (Pam) of Canfield and Mark R. (Lori) of Mineral Ridge; a sister, Lucile Brawdy of Niles; a cousin, George John of Niles; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and also many nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Walter, Ralph, John and Willis; two sisters, Wilda Fillian and Helen Garland are deceased. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel and also 10 to 11 AM on Monday.
