James Smith

James Smith, 77 of Austintown, passed away peacefully, May 27, 2013, at Hospice House. He was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Youngstown the son of James and Clara Smith. James was a retired Navy Seal with 29 years of service to our Country, serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry, but especially loved spending time and traveling with his wife Mary. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife; Mary Smith, his two brothers; Bill (Virginia) Smith, of Struthers and John Smith, of Austintown. Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his two sisters; Sandra Lee Smith and Peggy Jean Wert. Friends will be received from 6:00pm-8:00pm, on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Austintown Chapel at 10:00am. Interment will be at Newton Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice House in honor of James.
