James Taylor Reiter of 8106 Meek Street, Masury, Ohio, died on Tuesday (9-12-2006) in the V.A. Medical Center, Butler, PA. He was 80. Mr. Reiter was born in Masury, Ohio on May 3, 1926, a son of George and Leila (Lunn) Reiter. A U.S. Navy Veteran, Seaman 1st Class Reiter served his country during WWII and a member of the former VFW Post #8860, Masury. James retired from Sharon Steel where he had worked 30 plus years as a Brakeman for the railroad operated by the mill. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening & bowling. Survivors include: his wife, Betty M. (Johnson) Reiter, whom he married 11-2-1946; his daughter, Judie Kirkland & her husband Harry J., New Wilmington, PA; his brother, George Reiter, Clark, PA; his sister, Ruth Schrobel, Masury; his grandchildren, Chadd Kirkland, New York, NY, and Katie Schmid & her husband Brian, Jackson, MI; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his infant daughter, Patricia Reiter; by his brother, Ammon Reiter; and by his sisters, Leila Green & Helen Vakerics. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. Dennis Bewley, Pastor of Brookfield United Methodist Church. No calling hours are scheduled. Burial will be Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the Hospice of Trumbull County.
