Jan G. Friend

Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Lane Family Funeral Homes Mineral Ridge Chapel for Jan G. Friend who passed away Sunday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Jan was born March 26, 1938 in Whyles, PA a daughter of the late George and Josephine (Ulan) Gomola. She was a member of the SCOPE Senior Center in Niles and Ladies of the Moose. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, and casino bus trips. Jan leaves to cherish her memory her husband Donald Friend, whom she married in November of 1973; daughters: Janet (Terry) Woodard and Joyce Winkler both of Yukon, PA; step children: Ronnie (Terri) Friend and Kenny (Sherry) Friend both of Akron and Kellie Nestor of West Virginia; one sister: Rose (Bruce) Hatcher of Deltona, FL and one brother James (Patty) Gomola of Westminster, MD. Jan also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Jan's name. Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2013, and from 12 pm until 1 pm Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Lane Family Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel.
