YOUNGSTOWN- Jean A. Coyne, 76, of Baymar Drive in Youngstown, passed away at 5:57 PM Wednesday in her home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jean was born March 5, 1930 in Campbell, Ohio and was the daughter of John and Katherine (Dunda) Dubyak Sr. Jean was a 1947 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Jean retired from the Youngstown Municipal Clerk of Courts Office where she was a deputy clerk in the criminal and traffic division for 18 years. Jean was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown. Jean was married on July 14, 1951 to John “Bud” P. Coyne and they were married for 39 years until his passing on July 4, 1998. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jean is survived by five children Nancy Squeglia of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl, Maureen (Bob) Maritch of Hubbard, Tricia (Gene) Potesta of Canfield, Kevin (Charlene) Coyne of Ashland, and Colleen (Scott) Sutherland of Anderson, SC; and six grandchildren Kristen, Courtney, and Brian Squeglia, Andrew and Anthony Potesta, and Gabrielle Sutherland. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by a son Jack Coyne, son-in-law Tom Squeglia, brothers Michael, John Jr., Joseph, and George Dubyak; a sister Marie Schuster, and her twin sister Jayne Rufh. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2006 from 4 until 7 PM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, where closing will be recited at 9:30 AM Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM Monday, September 18, 2006 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Popovich officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of those who helped their mother during her illness, especially to Dr. Robert Spratt and his staff, MVI Home Care and Hospice, and to Valley Home Health Care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Jean Coyne Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center P.O. Box 27106, New York, New York 10087 (Please specify for Colon Cancer Research Fund #305332).
