Mrs. Jean K. Pappas, 90 of Warren, passed away early Monday morning April 29, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 21, 1923, DuBois, Pennsylvania the only daughter of the late Maurice and Evelyn (Bailey) Pyne. Jean had worked on the production line at Packard Electric for nearly thirty-years before her retirement in 1982. Mrs. Pappas was a member of Conerstone Baptist Church in Cortland where she had also belonged to the church women's group. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, flower gardening, and taking trips with her husband in their RV. She leaves behind her husband of more than seventy-one years, John M. Pappas, whom she married on June 15, 1941; two sons John Pappas Jr. of Fowler, Lee Pappas and his wife Joan of Cortland; her daughter Jean "Susie" Phillips of Howland; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. Jean was preceded in death by her son Thomas M. Pappas on October 5, 2012, her daughter Patricia I. Meeker on November 6, 1992, her brothers Bernard and Bob Pyne, and by her daughter-in-law Katherine Pappas, and son-in-law Edmond L. Phillips. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening May 2, 2013 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. The funeral service will be held at11:00AM on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Crawford officiating. Friends may also call on Friday one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
