Jean Marie Powers

Girard- Private funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge Chapel for Jean M. Powers age 74 of 906 Lawrence Ave. who died Sat. morning at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren. Jean was born Dec. 13, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and came here as a child and was a lifelong resident of this area. She was the daughter of James and Rose (McCue) Powers. She had worked for 46 years at the Niles Dailey Times in Niles from age 17 until it closed in 1993. Jean was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Mineral Ridge and a 1947 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. Jean is survived by a cousin James E. Powers, Sr. of Toledo and some close friends Patty, Mike and Lynnie who were like family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a cousin William R. Powers.
