Jean Marie Wilson

Austintown- Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Jean Wilson who died Sunday afternoon at Meridian Arms. Jean was born July 27, 1926 in Youngstown the granddaughter of former Youngstown Mayor Charles F. Scheible and the daughter of Charles R. and Betty G. (Merrill) Scheible. Jean was a 1944 graduate of South High School. She was a long time member of Wickcliffe Christian Church, Cub Scout Leader and Executive Director of Youngstown Meals-On-Wheels. Jean was an active supporter of various Austintown School programs and often donated to many charities and children's programs. She served as president of Kent State Mother Club and was a social member of the Saxon Club. She was also a telephone operator for Ohio Bell. Jean was proud to be the niece of George and Nita Finnie, patrons of Baldwin-Wallace College. Jean and her husband Harold enjoyed traveling and camped often at Cook Forest PA. She also had a love for animals especially dogs and birds. She leaves three sons; Gregory (Debra) of Warren, Harold (Kathleen) of Austintown, Douglas (JoAnn) of Charlotte, N.C., six grandchildren; Ethan of Cortland, Christopher of Mineral Ridge, Calvin (Leah) of Austintown, Chad and Conrad of Cincinnati, Stephanie (Scott) Pennell of Mooresville, N.C. and three great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Harold John Wilson whom she married April 15, 1950 and who died May 15, 2005, sister Betty Lou Gollner and brother- in- law Irv. The Wilson family would like to thank the staff of Meridian Arms for their compassion and professional care given to Jean.
