Jean Olzak, age 79 of Austintown passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at Hospice House, Poland, Ohio. Born September 1, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio, Jean was the daughter of Kenneth and Josephine (Dill) Johnston. She married Frank Olzak on June 14, 1953 and together they had four wonderful children. Jean retired in 2003 after more than 25 years with Ben Rudick & Son/National Fire Repair Company where she was in charge of office operations. She was very active in Eastern Star serving as Past Matron of Miriam Chapter # 278, OES. A former Deputy Grand Matron (1988); Miriam Chapter Auxiliary; MB's Golden Stars and the LB Circle. Jean was very proud of her membership with OES. However, the main "stars" of her life were her grandchildren. She loved time spent with them and always set the example of being their perfect grandma. Survivors include her husband, daughters; Nancy Jackson (Zephyrhills, FL) and Laurie (John) Hernandez (Campbell, OH), sons; Brian (Claudia) Olzak (Austintown), and Kevin Olzak (Austintown). Brother, William Johnston (FL), 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents. Private Services will be held at a later date.
