Jeffrey T. Uber

Jeffrey Thomas Uber, 57, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 at a local hospital. It is a tragedy to lose such a great man so early in life. He brightened the days of many and his generousity will never be forgotten. There will be a memorial service on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Western Reserve Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Rd., Canfield to honor his life. Jeffrey was born March 3, 1954 in Youngstown, a son of the late John P. and Barbara L. Stanton Uber and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Canfield High School in 1972 and received an Associate Degree from Youngstown State University. Jeff served in the U.S. Navy and had been a Plant Manager for BMC of Ohio, Inc. Jeff was one of the founding members of the Youngstown Parrot Head Club, a community service organization, as well as a member of the Girard Eagle Club. It was important to Jeff to help people and organizations through fundraising. He had even chosen to help others after he passed through organ donation. He leaves his son, Mathew (Robyn) Uber of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; a daughter, Stacey (Mike) Drozda of Aurora, Ohio; three grandchildren, Dean and Drew Uber and Zoey Drozda; two sisters, Carolyn (Jerry) Stoneburner of Canfield, Sherri Leonard of Pickerington, Ohio; a brother, R. Scott (Michele) Uber of Gahanna, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; his girlfriend Val Cartwright and her three sons, Kevin, Andrew and Eric. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
