Jennie "Jean" Nardin Novak age 96, passed away Sunday evening March 23, 2014, at Windsor House Nursing Home in Champion, OH. She was born on November 11, 1917 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to George and Fannie (Gillette) Nardin. Jean graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1935 and on May 24, 1948, she married Edward P. Novak, Sr.. For the past 70 plus years, Jennie lived in Masury and then Brookfield. She started work in Pittsfield working for the American Sportswear Company. Later in Ohio, she worked at Westinghouse Electric before spending full time taking care of her children. She was a great seamstress, superb baker and loved her gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward on October 17, 1998, brothers Paul Nardin and George A. Nardin III; and sisters Camille Nardin and Madeline Groat. Surviving are her three children, Priscilla and her husband Mel Warren of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Edward P. Jr. and his wife Susan of Warren, Ohio and Joseph P. of Youngstown, Ohio; three grandchildren, Sarah Anderson, Laura Warren and Rachel Gulakowski; and three great grandchildren, Sofie and Reid Anderson and Ava Ebel. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation which will be held at the Madasz Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes in Brookfield, OH Friday March 28, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral ceremony will be held Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home where visitation will also be held one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow at Brookfield Township Cemetery.
