Jimmy L. Barnett, 70, 818 Ellsworth Ave. NW Warren, OH died at 6:15 PM Thursday June 8, 2006 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital ER from cancer. He was born Dec.26, 1935 in Braeholm, WV the son of General and Inez (Plumley) Barnett. He was born and raised in West Virginia and graduated from Man, WV High School. He joined the US Army and served for 23 years retiring in 1978. Jimmie was a nuclear weapons maintenance technician and was stationed in Germany, Korea and various other locations. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class and his awards included the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. He also was an expert with the M-14 & M-16 rifles. Following his retirement from the Army, he moved to the Warren area and worked as a dispatcher for 20 years for Ohio Security. He enjoyed reading and bowled in several leagues at Echo and Rainbow Lanes. He was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia (Gmucs) Barnett whom he married Feb.2, 1963, 2 sons Ken of Champion and Richard at home, 2 cousins Nancy Pyles of Virginia and Mary Ellen Blevins of Tennessee, and 6 cats. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday June 13, 2006 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery.
