Joseph A. Vendemia 57, of Howland Twp. formerly of Brookfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning April 27, 2014 while on a golfing trip with his son in Myrtle Beach, SC. Joe was born in Sharon, PA on August 16, 1956 the son of Joseph P. and Mary H. (Tomko) Vendemia. He was a 1974 graduate of Brookfield High School and worked for the former Sharon Tube Company for thirty-two years before his retirement as the general manager in 2009. He was deeply devoted to his family as was evident through his endless desire for hosting holidays and special occasions at home. Joe was a role model and father figure to many, and a friend to many more. He had a unique ability to make people feel the genuine interest he had in their lives. Joe loved his home that he and his wife Debbie shared. One of his favorite pastimes was putting his carpentry skills to work in ambitious projects around the house. He was passionate about weekend getaways and fun outings with his wife, golfing with his son, and being active in his daughter and son-in-laws lives on a daily basis. He cherished visiting his son Joe in New York City, daily chats with his daughter Melanie, and anything at all that included spending time with and helping to raise his grandchildren. Joe's legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren and all others he's touched throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, the former Deborah I. Campana whom he married on March 5, 2005; his son Joseph C. Vendemia of New York, NY; daughter Melanie L. Smith and her husband Chad of Brookfield, OH; stepdaughters Natalie Pacheco and her husband Tony of Warren, OH, Christa Ross of Sandusky, OH, Courtney Ross of Alexandria, VA; his sister Darlene Nacey and her husband Ed of St. Petersburg, FL; and by his three grandsons Anthony, Brayden, and Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Janine Lynne (Spencer) Vendemia whom he married January 23, 1976 and passed away on July 5, 2001. A Celebration of Joe's Life will begin with a viewing at 11:30am on Saturday May 3, 2014 at the North-Mar Church 3855 East Market Street, Warren, Ohio 44484, and a memorial service to begin at 12:00pm with Pastor Myron Daum officiating. Burial will follow at the Brookfield Township Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Madasz Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes in Brookfield, OH.
