John A. Burns

John Burns passed away unexpectedly Friday at his home in Illinois. He was 51. John was born May 18, 1966 in Flint MI, a son of William A. and Lynne E. Davies Burns, the youngest of four boys. His family moved to Canfield in the late 1960's. After graduating from Canfield High School in 1984, where he was a member of the swim team, John attended The Ohio State University, earning a degree in Psychology in 1988 and then receiving a Masters Degree. He lived in Pittsburgh for many years. John had several hobbies, including cooking, chess, tennis and home remodeling. He also enjoyed golfing and fly fishing. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. John is survived by his parents, his two children, Andrew and Angela of Pittsburgh; his brothers, David (Carol) of New Middletown, Gregory (Kelli) and Jeffrey (Carol) both of Toledo. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Imogene Burns and Lloyd and Eva Davies. There will be Services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Canfield Chapel, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the Service at the funeral home.
