John C. Kollar

John "Jack" C. Kollar, 80, passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Hospice House Surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy battle with cancer. Jack was born Feb. 16, 1936 in Youngstown, a son of the late Charles and Mary Kollar, and was a lifelong area resident. Jack attended Holy Name Elementary School and was a 1954 graduate of Ursuline High School where he played football. He worked for 30 years at Delphi (Packard Electric) in Warren, Ohio retiring in 1999. He was an avid bowler, hunter, and golfer. He also enjoyed boating and fishing. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers and loved attending his grandchildren's activities. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed time spent with his family. He was a kind, good hearted and generous man who will be missed by all. Jack leaves his wife of 54 years, Donna J. (Stellutto), whom he married Sept. 22, 1962: two sons, John (Maureen), David (Lisa M.) and a daughter Lisa T. all of Austintown, four grandchildren, Emily, Sydney, Kristeena (Kiki) and David and one great granddaughter, Josephine Arnal. A brother Charles (Peggy) of Youngstown and a sister Julianne (Myron) Myrvold of Algonac, Mich, and a brother in law Louie (Betty) Stellutto of Tavares, Fla, and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Genevieve Knapp and Theresa Bishop. Jack's family expresses sincere thanks to Dr. Antoine Chahine and his staff at the Blood and Cancer Center for many years of wonderful care and to the staff of St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman for the kindness shown and the care given to him during his illness. The family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice House for the wonderful care, compassion and kindness shown to the family. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday Dec. 31st from 10 to 11 AM, at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, with a memorial service beginning at 11 AM.
