John C. Rosko, of Austintown, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman Campus following a short battle with cancer. He was 64 years old. John was born on February 2, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of John and Jeanette (Torisk) Rosko and was a graduate of Chaney High School. John retired in 2002 from Tamarkin after working for 31 years as a truck driver. John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Austintown and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed football and was a die hard Cleveland Browns Fan. He loved to watch the Cleveland Indians and ride his motorcycle. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. John is survived by his wife Patricia C. Oblinger-DeLuca, whom he married on February 12, 1994; his father of Youngstown; his mother-in-law JoAnn Oblinger of Austintown; three children Shari (Dave) Smith of Youngstown, Thomas (Gina) DeLuca of Youngstown and Kelly (Neil) Huda of Poland; a sister Marsha Koscelansky of Youngstown; and five grandchildren Aubrey and Karley Smith, Thomas Guy DeLuca and Skyler and Noah Huda. John was preceded in death by his mother; an infant daughter Patricia Ann Rosko and his father-in-law Robert J. Oblinger. Calling hours for John will take place on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Austintown, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church. The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in John’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio, 44512.
