John Douglas Evans

Canfield- A service celebrating the life of John Douglas Evans will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. John was born July 15, 1971 the son of Judge James C. and Carol Brown Evans. John graduated from Jackson Milton High School in 1989. After graduation he began taking classes at YSU but found out that having a family and a job exceeded his desires academically. Following a tragic industrial accident 12 years ago, John began an uphill battle to regain his strength and life desires. With the help and love of many people he was given a second chance to excel in his present occupation as a laborer and mechanic at the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District. John was very proud of his job and fellow employees who were his second family. He loved riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, cooking, grilling and all outdoor activities. John enjoyed his dogs, Damon & Bogie. John was a fun loving, kind hearted man. The important things in his life were his family and friends. He was always there to help. John will be sadly missed by his lovely children Maverick and Julia Evans, mother Carol, father Jim and step mother Darla Evans. He will also be missed by his sister Jamie Evans Gady and his twin nieces Jillian & Jordan Gady of New Middletown, his grandmother Pearl Brown who he loved dearly of Berlin Center, stepbrother Zach, step sisters, Bonnie & Heidi, several cousins and many friends. John was preceded in death by his grandparents; Josephine and James Evans, James R. Brown and his Uncle John E. Evans whom he was named after. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Friday at the funeral home and from 12:30-1:30 Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in Ellsworth Cemetery. John was tough as nails with a heart of gold.
