Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday at the St. James Episcopal Church in Boardman for John E. Frantz, 78, who died Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. He was born September 22, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of John T. and Rhoda K. (Cable) Frantz, and he resided in this area all of his life. He worked as a clerk-typist at U.S. Steel in McDonald for 30 years and most recently he worked as a supervisor for RMI Titanium in Niles for 12 years before retiring in 1993. He was a current member of St. James Episcopal Church and a former member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Austintown. He was also a member of the RMI Retirees and he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. John was a kind and loving man and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Twila E. Glaze, whom he married February 12, 1955. He also leaves behind two sons; James H. (Karen) Frantz of Vancouver, WA and William R. (Rowena) Frantz of Maple Heights; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters; Patricia A. Marshall and Sr. Mary Janet Frantz, both of Youngstown. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James M. Frantz. Friends may call from 5-8pm Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and again from 9-10am Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. James Episcopal Church in John's memory.
