John Elmer Hollenberger

There will be a service 11 AM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for John Elmer Hollenberger who passed away Saturday at Beeghly Oaks Care Center. He was born May 21, 1930 in Westview, PA a son of the late Samuel and Amelia (Moll) Hollenberger. John retired from General Motors where he had worked in the maintenance department. He enjoyed golfing and had been a drummer in a jazz band. He served two tours in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a radio operator. His wife Sonja has passed away April 10, 2001. John leaves two daughters Katherine Dayeen of Riverside, California, and Karen Harmon of Boardman; one brother James Hollenberger of Florida; one sister: Esther Jones of Mars, PA; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Beside his wife and parents, John is preceded in death by two brothers: Samuel and Robert Hollenberger; and three sisters: Doris, Viola, and Amelia. Friends may call from 5 PM until 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
