Howland John G. Greguric, 87, formerly of Masury, passed away Tuesday morning, June 16, 2015 at Cleveland Metro Hospital. John was born on April 26, 1928 in Masury, OH, a son of the late John and Barbara ( Klecic) Greguric. He was a 1945 graduate of Brookfield High School and a veteran of the United States Army Air Force. John served his country during Berlin Airlift from 1945-1949 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1950. While serving his country, he was the head photographer for the Western Allied Division for Berlin Airlift and he received the World War II Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He stayed active in the Air Force Reserves until 1958. John donated pictures to the Bob Hope Exhibit and the Berlin Airlift Exhibit at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH. He was very active in his community and was the President, Vice President, and Secretary of Brookfield Township Optimist Club, Lt. Governor for the State of Ohio's Optimist International, Institutional Representative for Boy Scouts of America, Chairman of Brookfield Township Zoning Committee, and Board of Director for the Shanango Valley Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Brookfield Township Zoning Committee, Ohio Trucking Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a Life member of Optimist International. He will be deeply missed by his three children Vicki Greguric of Niles, OH, Joan Shea of Austintown, OH, and Bill (Joanne) Greguric of Columbus, OH; his four grandchildren, Shawn, Megan, Jason, and Caitlin; three great-grandchildren; his sister Kathryn (Joseph) Lazich of Brookfield, OH; and his brother Steve (Marge) Greguric of Brookfield, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife L. Gene Greguric, whom he married on June 20, 1947 and passed away December of 2006; and his three brothers, Robert, Frank, and Joseph Greguric. A Military service will be held at 7:30PM by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9571. John will be buried at Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
