John G. Mitchell Jr.

John G. Mitchell Jr., of Lake Milton, passed away Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. John was born June 25, 1925 in New Castle, PA a son of the late John G. and Nellie (Teets) Mitchell Sr. He worked for Conrail, Penn Central, and Pennsylvania Railroad for over 40 years retiring as a manager. John was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State University football fan, always enjoyed traveling to national parks and loved learning about the Civil War. John is survived by two children John S. (Jane) Mitchell of Gates Mills; and Elaine S. Morlan of Poland; five grandchildren: Dana Gianna, Shane, Scott, and Jacob; two great grandchildren: Faith and Bryan; and his best friends Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Collier. Besides his parents, two brothers Robert and Jack Mitchell and three sisters Shirley, Ruth, and Betty precede John in death. Friends may call from 10 – 11 Friday morning at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Material contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
