John L. "Jack" Dunn, Sr.

John L. "Jack" Dunn, Sr., age 76 of Cortland, died Saturday evening, May 14, 2016, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born May 25, 1939 in Warren the son of the late Rev. John George and Ardelle Frances Knopp Dunn. Jack was a 1957 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal from 1957-60. He retired in 1987 after 27 years service at Thomas Steel Corp., where he worked as a tow motor driver. Jack was a member of the Pymatuning Trailblazers and the Grand Valley Trailblazers (Western Reserve Greenway) Clubs. He enjoyed snowmobiling and 4 wheelers, hunting and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Jack was an automobile enthusiast and loved anything with wheels. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith A. Campbell Dunn, whom he married April 1, 1960; two daughters, Jacquelyn A. Liberatore and Rebecca D. (Stuart) Eloph; one son, John L. (Dawn) Dunn Jr. and four grandchildren, Lheda M. Liberatore, Johnathan L. Dunn, Mason W. Eloph and Marshall L. Eloph. One granddaughter, Rochelle L. Liberatore preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at Noon Thursday at Fowler Community Church, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the noon service. Pastor Joel Dickson and Pastor John Talkington will officiate. Military honors will follow the service at the church. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
