John N. Sullivan

John N. “Jack” Sullivan, 75, of Warren, OH and Heathsville, VA died Tuesday Sept.25, 2007 at Windsor House at Liberty Health Care Center following a short illness. John was born in Warren, OH August 13, 1932 to former Police Captain James A. Sullivan and Barbara (Barnoff) Sullivan. He was raised in Warren and attended Warren City Schools graduating from Harding High School in January 1951 where he was a manager for the football team. He remained lifetime friends with many of the football players. He worked for a short time for Mullins Mfg. then joined the US Navy and served on the destroyer USS Haynsworth during the Korean War often lying off the coast of Korea. He finished his service with a world cruise. After his Navy discharge, he returned to Warren and attended Youngstown State University. John worked in the Production Planning Dept. for Republic Steel Corp. which later became LTV Steel and presently WCI Steel from where he retired after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Warren prior to moving to Heathsville, VA where he joined St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. He leaves his wife of 42 years Patricia “Pat” (Addicott) Sullivan, step-son A. Lee Robertson of Virginia, and a sister Mary Louise (Barnoff) McCaslin of Southington, OH. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday Sept.28, 2007 at Christ Episcopal Church chapel. The Rev. Donna Maree will officiate. Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Roberts-Clark Chapel. John will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered in Chesapeake Bay where he and his wife have a home on the water in that area.
