John R. Charny

JOHN R. CHARNY John R. Charny of 433 Obermiyer Rd. SE, Brookfield, Ohio, died at 12:25 PM Friday at Sharon Regional Hospital, Sharon after a brief illness. He was 70. Mr. Charny was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on July 25, 1935, a son of John R. and Anna (Hrabosky) Charny. Following graduation from Farrell High School in 1953, John went on to serve our country in the Army as a SP4. John was a Quality Controller for Sawhill Tubular, retiring in 1997 after 32 years of service. His memberships included St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury, Ohio. John also was a baseball coach for over 10 years with the Brookfield Youth League. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, gardening, and being an avid New York Yankees Fan. Survivors include: wife, Roni (Caroots) Charny, whom he married August 20, 1966; 3 sons, David J. Charny, Myrtle Beach, SC, John S. Charny, Dublin, OH, and Darren R. Charny, Jupiter, FL; sister, Margaret Fox, Prescott Valley, AZ; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews too. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with Rev. John Lody, Pastor. Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday at Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield.
