John Selby Cooke

There will be a funeral service 1 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for John Selby Cooke, of Canfield, who passed away Wednesday evening at the Hospice House. John was born March 13, 1932 in Youngstown a son of the late Gwynfryn Morgan and Ellen Elizabeth (Selby) Cooke. John retired as a truck driver with Jones Transfer and had previously worked for Norwalk Truck Line. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 377 and of the Protestant Faith. John served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. His wife Marion L. whom he married October 5, 1976, passed away August 26, 1997. He is survived by a step daughter Kathleen Bond of Norcross, GA; a sister Iris Cargile of Tulsa Oklahoma; two nephews: Ray (Belinda) Marshall and Cliff (Christina) Adcock of Denver, CO; and his caretakers: Patricia and Chuck Cooper of Austintown. John will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice House, especially Linda, for their loving care. Friends may call from 6 PM until 8 PM Sunday; and from 12 PM until 1 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel. Memorial contribution may be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514, in John's name.
