John T. Brincko 85 of Brookfield, OH passed away at 11:20AM Saturday morning August 9, 2014 at Hospice House in Poland, OH. He was born in Youngstown on June 15, 1929 the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Karabin Brincko and was a graduate of Chaney High School. John served our country in the Army while stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. during the Korean War. Following his discharge returned home to work as a sheet metal mechanic and job supervisor for the former Stefanak & Sons Sheet Metal Contractors in Farrell, PA his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #33 Youngstown District. John was also the former owner and operator of the Gateway Tavern in Orangeville. Following his retirement, he and his companion Ruth spent many years as snowbirds traveling back and forth to their home in Arizona. Together they loved traveling and taking many trips to various casinos. When at home he loved working outside and wasn't afraid to tackle numerous major landscaping and gardening projects. He leaves behind his beloved companion Ruth Lakatos of Brookfield, OH, her daughter Tracy Lakatos of Milwaukee, WI, as well as several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife Alicia (Kuchmak) Brincko; brothers Steve and George Brincko; and by five sisters Katherine Ragan, Agnes Kula, Mary Lischak, Helen Kosko, and Elizabeth Pavlisen. Friends may call on Tuesday evening August 12, 2014 from 4:00-8:00PM at the Madasz Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes 6923 Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield, OH. Closing prayers will be held on Wednesday morning beginning at 9:15AM at the funeral home to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sharon, PA with Rev. Thomas Whitman as Pastor. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon, PA where John will be laid to rest next to his first wife Alicia. As expression of sympathy the family suggests that contributions may be made to either Hospice of the Valley or to the donors choice.
