John W. "Jack" Gillie

JOHN W. "JACK" GILLIE, 68 MINERAL RIDGE-There will be Calling Hours from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Tuesday for John W. "Jack" Gillie, 68, who died Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. Jack was born April 26, 1947 in Youngstown, a son of William Glenn and Mary Ellen McMasters Gillie. Jack was a sales rep. with the Wonder Bread/Hostess Cake Co., retiring in 2000. He was a 1965 graduate of Liberty High School and served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Jack loved spending time with his family. He was an avid sports fan and coached Pee Wee Girls softball and boys baseball for many years. He enjoyed bowling and golf and playing Horseshoes. Jack is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Patricia L. Olesky, whom he married December 1, 1975; his children, Monica (Rich) Dyce of Orlando, FL, Erica Gillie of Venice, FL, Jackie (Bobby) Terry of Alliance, Kerri (Ben) Crumbacher of Mineral Ridge, John W. (Danielle) Gillie, Jr. of Mineral Ridge, Krista (Gary) Turner of Mineral Ridge and David (Jenna) Gillie of Mineral Ridge; his sisters, Glenda (Paul) Hrosch of Youngstown and Roseann (Leo) DiVencenzo of Warren; his brother, Robert (Laura) Gillie of Vermilion; his grandchildren, Amanda, Haylen, Annalei, Alainna, Isabella, Olivia, Chaeli, Jessicca, Jennah, Juliana, Layla, Benjamin, Blake, Jack, lll, Andrew, Alex, Nick, Lexie, Payton and Jaycie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Sarabeth Fuller.
