Joseph C. Higinbotham

August 3, 1951 — January 27, 2017

Joseph C. Higinbotham, age 65, of Lordstown, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 surrounded by his large family at Trumbull Memorial Hospital; he lost his courageous battle of 11 years to cancer. Joe was born August 3, 1951 in Albany, New York to the late Eugene and Frankie Higinbotham. He was a 1969 Graduate of Lordstown High School, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973. He retired in 2012 from General Motors Lordstown with 39 years of service; for 30 of those years, Joe was dedicated to the UAW Local 1714 as a Union Rep. He was a 32nd degree of the Charity Lodge #530 F&AM. He served as a Newton Falls Township Police officer for nine years. He loved all things outdoors, including auctions, flea markets, bicycling, and golfing. He loved crossword puzzles, old Western movies, and his entire family. Besides his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brother Randy Higinbotham, mother-in-law Maude (Dolly) Worley, uncle and aunt Bob and Frances Higinbotham. Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years Brenda K. (Worley) Higinbotham, his son Joe (Renee) Higinbotham, his daughter Ashley Higinbotham, brother Gene (Theresa) Higinbotham, sisters Melia Kripchak, and Laura Pernice, father-in-law Cleveland (Betty) Worley, and his five granddaughters and two grandsons. Friends may call Tuesday, January 31st from 3-6pm at the Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren, where the funeral service will begin at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lymphoma Research Foundation 115 Broadway Suite 1301, New York, New York 10006
