Joseph Desiato – 97 Niles—Services will be 11am Saturday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Joseph Desiato, 97, of Niles formerly of Austintown and Youngstown who passed away early Thursday morning in Sheppard of the Valley in Niles. Joseph was born April 20, 1907 in Campobasso, Italy the son of Patsy and Pauline (Orlando) DeSiato, and came to the area in 1913 at the age of five. He worked for Automatic Sprinkler as a Machinist for 40 years retiring as a Forman in 1972. Joseph attended The Rayen School and was of the Methodist faith. His wife the former Elsie Carrodo whom he married August 1, 1931, passed away March 28, 1978. Joseph leaves two daughters: Mercedes Cicazi of Austintown, and Marlene DePietro of Warren, one sister: Ann Clacko of Hubbard, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren. Besides his wife, a daughter Delores Marstellar and a sister Lucy Razzano and two brothers Anthony and Carmen Desiato are deceased. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 pm today and from 10 to 11 am Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to the Shepherds Foundation, 6000 Mahoning Avenue Suite #410, Youngstown, Ohio 44515-2225.
