AUSTINTOWN- Joseph Fisher, 92, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. He was born in Willow Grove, OH on January 28, 1922 to the late Louis and Bessie (Burger) Fisher. Joe was a United States Army Veteran during World War II and then became a member of the VFW Post 4237. After his service he went on to work for Briar Hill as a steelworker for 33 years before retiring in 1980. On December 2, 1947, Joe married the love of his life, Alice T. Koch, and they spent 52 years together before her passing on August 26, 2000. Joe will be remembered for reading, watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, taking rides, metal detecting, and his love of spending time with his family and grandchildren. Left to mourn Joe's passing are his children, James (Elizabeth) Fisher of Lowellville, Carol (Gary) Pavelko of Newton Falls, Diane (James) Fox of Newton Falls, and Kathleen King of Youngstown. Joe also leaves behind 11 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandson. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice T. Fisher, and his son-in-law, Donald King. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30 from 10AM-12 noon at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel where a funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Interment will take place at Brunstetter Cemetery.
