Austintown- Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday in St. Joseph Church for Joseph G. D’Amico of 6384 E. Harvest Ridge who died Friday evening in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Joe was born Dec. 24, 1941 in Youngstown and was the son of Michael and Florence (Giordano) D’Amico. He retired in 1994 from Delphi Packard Electric in Warren where he had worked for 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, I.U.E. Seven Seventeen Union, a graduate of East High School, a member of the Itam Golf League, St. Christine’s and St. Joseph Golf League, graduated from Barber College in Cleveland, member of Men’s Renewal Team, active in the American Red Cross-Northern Ohio Region where he was a member of the Golden Gallon Club for donating blood and also the Blood Donation Club. Joe had been a coach for the Westside Colts, liked camping, R.V’s, golfing, race cars and traveling. He had scored a hole-in-one at Candywood Golf Course on the 128 yard 2nd hole. using an 8 iron. He had also served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Crisis. Joe is survived by his wife Frances (Naples) D’Amico whom he married May 4, 1963. He also leaves his mother of New Middletown, three daughters, Dawn M. (Donald) Nadeja of Hubbard, Shannon M. (Joe) Kirila of Brookfield, Michele (Andrew) D’Apolito of Youngstown, a son Joe (Cindi) D’Amico of Austintown, a sister Mary Lou (Herman) Himes of New Middletown, OH and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Michael D’Amico. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel from 4-8 PM Monday.
