Joseph P. Whitacre

Joseph Paul Whitacre of Brookfield, passed away early Saturday morning August 27, 2011at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Youngstown as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was forty years old. Joe was born on June 28, 1971 in Youngstown, OH the son of Stephen P. and Donna J. (Fairall) Whitacre and was a 1989 graduate of McDonald High School and graduated from T.D.D.S. in Lake Milton as a diesel mechanic. He would go on to work in the trucking industry for Leaseway Auto Carriers now known as Cassens Carriers for the past ten years. An avid car enthusiast, Joe was proud to be a member of the Hollywood Knights Car Club Chapter of Youngstown for many years. He was also known for his love of drag racing with both his motorcycle and cars. He is survived by his wife the former Cynthia M. Williams whom he married on May 21, 1994; his four children Joseph P. (Marie) Whitacre Jr. who is serving with the United States Army and is based in New York, Stephen R. Whitacre Cortland, OH, Kaytlin R. Whitacre and Bruce J. Whitacre both at home; his parents Stephen and Donna Whitacre of McDonald, OH; his father and mother-in-law Phillip L. and Rita A. Williams of Brookfield; Grandmother Patricia A. Gagye of Austintown, OH; and by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and his numerous friends. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers John P. Whitacre, Joseph F. Fairall, and Coleman Gagye, and his grandmother Angela Whitacre. Calling Hours will take place on Tuesday August 30, 2011 from 5-8:00PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield, OH. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
